LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – There’s another new restaurant coming to the Louisville Waterfront in a building already undergoing some major renovations.
John Varanese, who owns ‘Varanese’ on Frankfort Avenue, is opening a second restaurant at his new River Road property.
“Levee at the River House” will share a kitchen with the new “River House” restaurant but will focus on small plates such as sliders, tacos, and flatbreads.
At night, the space will turn into an entertainment venue with live music several nights a week.
Chef Varanese said he’s had an eye on this property since 2001.
“This location was still available and I knew if I wasn’t the one who did it, someone else would and I don’t know if I could live with myself seeing somebody else really create my vision because again, I just see such a great location and unique spot,” Chef Varanese said.
Levee at the River House is expected to open shortly after River House in February of 2016.
