LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Chef John Varanese will open not one, but two new restaurants on River Road next year.
Levee is the second new concept in the works for the property, expected to open shortly after River House in February 2016.
The two restaurants will share a kitchen, but will be distinctly different.
The fare at Levee will include small plates with savory items like steak sliders with caramelized onions, fried ravioli with smokey corn butter and assorted nuts smoked in bourbon barrels.
Fresh herbs will be infused into frozen cocktails at the bar with a focus on innovative creations.
Varanese is putting an emphasis on live entertainment for Levee.
“We hope the riverside atmosphere paired with great local music and premier food and beverage options will establish Levee as a unique evening destination,” Varanese said.
Future plans for the property also include a banquet space for private catered events.
